Sculptra Learn More

How is Sculptra different than filler:
Sculptra and dermal fillers are both cosmetic injectables, but they differ in their mechanisms and longevity. Sculptra is a biostimulator that uses poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) to stimulate collagen production, leading to gradual volume restoration over timeDermal fillers, commonly made of hyaluronic acid, provide immediate volume by physically filling space and attracting moisture. Sculptra’s effects are longer-lasting, potentially up to two years, while fillers typically last from six months to two years, requiring more frequent touch-ups.

Sculptra vs Radiesse

How long does Sculptra last:
Sculptra results can last for two years or longer, with some individuals experiencing benefits for up to five yearsThe exact duration varies depending on individual factors like age, skin health, and lifestyle. Sculptra is a collagen stimulator, and the results appear gradually as your body produces its own collagen in response to the treatment.

What is the 5-5-5 rule:
The 5-5-5 rule for Sculptra aftercare involves massaging the treated area 5 minutes a day, 5 times a day, for 5 daysThis massage helps distribute the Sculptra product evenly under the skin, promoting optimal collagen production and reducing the risk of lumps or nodules.

Who is not a good candidate for Sculptra:
Sculptra, a dermal filler, is not suitable for everyone. Individuals with severe allergies, a history of keloid or hypertrophic scarring, or those who are pregnant or breastfeeding should avoid Sculptra. Additionally, those with active skin infections, or those who are prone to keloids or hypertrophic scarring, should not get Sculptra. It’s also not recommended for individuals with certain autoimmune disorders, like multiple sclerosis, lupus, or rheumatoid arthritis.

Where can you not inject Sculptra:
Given these points, we recommend NOT injecting Sculptra into the forehead area, around the eyes or lips, on the nose, or between the eyebrows. For these areas, neurotoxins like Botox or dermal fillers such as Juvederm are more suitable options.

What is the best age to get Sculptra:

Sculptra, a collagen stimulator, can be beneficial for a wide range of ages, but is often most effective for those 30s and olderWhile some may start using it as a preventative measure in their 30s, it’s also a great option for rejuvenating the appearance of those in their 40s, 50s, and beyond. The best time to start depends on individual needs and goals, with younger individuals using it for preventative measures and older individuals for corrective purposes.

Factors to Consider:
  • Age-related collagen loss:

As we age, our bodies produce less collagen, leading to wrinkles, sagging skin, and loss of facial volume. Sculptra helps stimulate collagen production, which can help restore a more youthful appearance.

  • Individual needs and goals:

Sculptra can be tailored to address specific concerns like wrinkles, folds, or facial hollowing. It’s important to consult with a healthcare professional to determine the best approach for your individual needs.

  • Preventative vs. Corrective:

Sculptra can be used as a preventative treatment in younger individuals to maintain skin elasticity and volume, or as a corrective treatment in older individuals to address existing signs of aging.

  • No strict age limit:
While most people who receive Sculptra are in their 30s or older, there is no strict age limit, and it can be beneficial for anyone looking to improve their skin’s appearance and volume.
